There was a random act of kindness celebration in every corner of the country two weeks ago! Despite being a one-day event, every day can be an opportunity to practice kindness and do good.

As #SiliconValleyStrongHeroes, they help improve the quality of life in our community, offer opportunities for community involvement, and become active members of their local communities. There is no better way to fulfill this dedication and share kindness with others than to volunteer.

Our local volunteer events provide a great way to earn community service hours, build community, or simply volunteer your time with others who appreciate the outdoors. Experience is not necessary, and tools will always be provided.

All ages are capable of performing random acts of kindness

Every month, the City of San Jose offers multiple volunteer opportunities. We always need volunteers in the community! Volunteers are needed for clean-ups, vaccine sites, and food distribution at nonprofits and San Jose schools.

Providing all tools and training is included with volunteer opportunities. Events can be one-time or ongoing. Every volunteer, regardless of how much time they have to spare, will find something useful.

The #SiliconValleyStrongHeroes of this week are doing nice things for their community, volunteering, and leading by example.
